MEET WITH ALİCAN KAYNAR
Born in Istanbul, Turkey on the 30th October 1988. Alican began sailing at the age of 6 in Fenerbahce Sports Club. He was in optimist class for 6 and laser class for 8 years. Then he started his career in finn class.
Through 28 years, Alican won countless cups and medals in a national and international areas for his club Fenerbahce Dogus Sailing Team and Turkish National Team.
At the age of 24, he made his debut for olympic games. He became 18th in 2012 London Olympic games, 13th in 2016 Rio Olympic Games and 8th in 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
He is also one of the elite sailor who fought with the title of team captain in the "Star Sailors Gold Cup" in 2022 which was hold in Switzerland.
Now, he is racing at Nacra 17 class wih his teammate Beste Kaynakçı. Their aim is to be in Paris 2024 Olympic Games to represent Turkey in their class.
